Lauren was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1962. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from C.W. Post College of Long Island University in 1983 and her Juris Doctor, with academic distinction, from Hofstra University School of Law in 1986. She received the Evidence Award and was a participant in the International Property Investment Journal from 1985-1986.
She was admitted to New York State Bar and the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1987. She is also currently admitted to practice in the Federal Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Her memberships include the Nassau County and New York State Bar Associations. She was an invited Lecturer at the Nassau County Bar Association CLE program on Appellate Practice.
As an attorney, she is the past Chairperson of the Appellate Practice Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association 2002-2004 and 2010-2012; and a current member of the Nassau County Bar Association Judiciary Committee and Grievance Committee. She serves on the Advisory Board for the Nassau Academy of Law and was an invited Moot Court Judge and Brief Scorer for the Nassau County Bar Association Law School Moot Court Program as well as the Moot Court Judge at Hofstra University School of Law.
She has been selected as a New York Metro Super Lawyer.
