Elan was born in Queens, New York.   He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business and management at Yeshiva University, Sy Syms School of Business, 2012 and his Juris Doctor from Cardozo School of Law in 2022.  He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2022. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association.

While at Cardozo, Elan served as Executive Editor for the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution (Vol. 23) and his Note was published in the Summer 2022 issue (“Twenty Yards From the End Zone: ADR, and the Potential for Greater Levels of Gender Equality in Professional Sports Employment”). Elan worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Donna Erez-Navot and was picked from over 150 applicants for the 16-member Cardozo Mediation Clinic. Elan also served as a Senator on the Student Bar Association over his 2L and 3L years and volunteered to be a Student Mentor in Cardozo’s May Mentors Program. At graduation, Elan qualified as one of ten students in the class to earn a Certificate in Dispute Resolution and he was selected to receive the 2022 Steven Eric Tannenbaum Leadership Award by the Cardozo faculty.
