PATRICK J. SHELLEY, ESQ. (PARTNER) OBTAINS A DEFENSE VERDICT IN MEDICAL MALPRACTICE CASE

The plaintiff claimed the defendants improperly performed spinal fusion surgery.  It was alleged that the original surgery was done at the improper level, and an incomplete fusion was performed,  requiring revision surgery and causing permanent nerve damage. The defense argued that the fusion was done appropriately, that pseudarthrosis is a known complication and the plaintiff’s injuries were not causally related to the treatment in question. On February 11, 2020, a jury in the Supreme Court Kings County, before Justice Michelle Weston, returned a verdict for the defendants, represented by Patrick J. Shelley, Esq.
