ELDER LAW &
ESTATE PLANNING

The Elder Law and Estate Planning Department serves its clients by creating and implementing estate and asset protection plans that reflect the client’s wishes, accomplish the client’s planning goals and protect individuals and their families.

Our Elder Law and Estate Planning Department serves our clients by engaging in advanced planning, preserving assets and creating estate and asset protection plans for individuals, families and businesses. Through advanced planning, we assist our clients in establishing a framework by which loved ones will be able to make financial and health care decisions in the event of the client’s incapacity and pursuant to the client’s wishes. We also assist clients in providing for the distribution of assets pursuant to their own wishes, needs and concerns instead of allowing state law to determine how assets will be distributed. Through the creation of Advance Directives, Last Wills and Testament and Trust documents, we strive to provide peace of mind for our clients.

Our Elder Law attorneys are also highly experienced in asset protection and Medicaid Planning as well as the Medicaid application process. Unfortunately, the reality of the increasing needs of loved ones as they age, combined with the cost of providing them with care may be overwhelming. The level of assistance we provide our clients in the Medicaid planning and Elder Law practice often increases exponentially, sometimes without warning or notice. Our dedicated attorneys will assist you and your loved ones in exploring options and guiding you throughout the Medicaid planning and application process to best protect assets and qualify for the care they need.

Special Needs Planning within our Elder Law and Estate Planning Department offers assistance to clients with precise planning to protect loved ones who are receiving, or are likely to receive, government benefits. Along with a comprehensive estate plan, a Supplemental Needs Trust may provide the protection your loved ones require while allowing them to maintain government benefits or entitlements.

Our attorneys have experience with thousands of Real Estate transactions and we are here to assist our clients with all facets of real estate (including condominium/co-op) sales and/or purchases.

Our Elder Law and Estate Planning Department has vast experience in all Guardianship matters. Whether your loved one requires a guardian as a result of having special needs as a child or later develops cognitive limitations through age-related issues or as a result of an accident, we are available to commence the appropriate guardianship action and assist you throughout the guardianship process. Not only do we have experience in filing guardianship actions, our attorneys are frequently appointed by the courts to serve as Guardians themselves, providing you with invaluable experience and knowledge in these matters.
